SALEM INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR TWO PRESTIGIOUS ALUMNI AWARDS
In preparation for its Spring 2011 Convocation, Salem International University is seeking nominations for the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award and the 2010-2011 Athletic Hall of Fame. Nominations will be accepted through December 20, 2010.
The winners of the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award and the Athletic Hall of Fame class will be honored during Convocation activities at the Awards Banquet. The banquet is tentatively scheduled at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2011 in TED Gymnasium.
The nominees for the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award must hold a degree from Salem College, Salem Teikyo University or SIU. Recipients will be selected based on significant contributions made to the university, their profession and society as a whole and having served as an inspiration to SIU undergraduates through their career and personal accomplishments. Ten years must have elapsed since graduation. Athletic Hall of Fame nominees must also hold a degree by Salem College, STU or SIU and have graduated at least 10 years ago. In addition to being recognized as an outstanding student athlete for the Tigers, nominees will have made significant contributions to the university, their profession and society.
Nominations for both honors will be accepted from alumni, faculty and friends of SIU. All nominations should include a brief, typewritten synopsis of one hundred words or less, with the nominee's name, description of the person, and a summary of accomplishments.

Nominations must include the nominee's mailing address, e-mail address, educational background (location, degree, date), athletic background while at Salem (if Athletic Hall of Fame nominee), vocational/professional experience and record of service (to SIU, community, profession, charitable organization, government, etc.).
