Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate

It takes a special kind of person to enter a career in nursing.  By receiving your licensed practical nursing certificate, you will be able to help improve the lives of others on a daily basis.  Salem’s Licensed Practical Nursing program prepares graduates for a career in nursing and for taking the NCLEX-PN exam which is required of candidates for licensure.

The Salem International University LPN certificate is a 12 month hands-on program*.  You’ll receive detailed instruction in courses that cover a wide variety of topics, including:

• Body structure and function
• Foundations of practical nursing
• Nutrition and diet therapy
• Professional communications
• Medical-surgical practical nursing
• Nursing care of older adults
• Mental health nursing

A final course is required of all practical nursing students that will prepare them for the NCLEX-PN exam.

*This is the normal completion time for a full time student.
