Salem International University Changes Name to Salem University
Salem, W.Va. -Salem International University announced that it has changed its name to Salem University. The school’s Board of Trustees approved the change at its September board meeting.
Mr. Danny Finuf, President and CEO of Salem University, said, “The purpose of the name change is to recognize the heritage and tradition this school has developed over the past 129 years, while establishing a new foundation from which to move into the future. The change also embodies the important role the City of Salem, as well as the State of West Virginia, have played and continues to play in our success.”
In conjunction with the name change, the school has launched a new and more modern brand identity package. The package includes the introduction of the flagship “Salem University” wordmark, a stand-alone letter mark represented by the letter “S” with claw marks, as well as graphics displaying the Salem Tiger Paw and Tiger Head.
“We are excited to embrace the new logos that embody the vibrant brand of Salem University, and have already received positive feedback from students, alumni and fans,” said Finuf. “This fresher, bolder look will start appearing on all University collateral, to include uniforms and clothing items.”
“We look forward to a bright future as we serve students from West Virginia and throughout the United States through both our campus-based and onli ne educational offerings,” said Finuf.
