Salem, WV - Salem International University Athletic Director Keith Bullion has announced the Rich Marshall will take over as head men's and women's cross country coach.
It was Marshall's past coaching experience that stood him out from the field of candidates.
"It is with pleasure and anticipation of continued progress that we announce today the hiring of Rich Marshall as the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach," said SIU Athletic Director Keith Bullion. "Rich has 17 years of head coaching experience, including eight years on the collegiate level."
Marshall will take over a cross country program that's going into its third year of existence and still trying to get it's footing. However, Marshall is looking forward to the challenge.
"I sincerely appreciate the University Administration for providing me the opportunity to develop and maintain the men's and women's cross country program," said Marshall.
A native of Wayne, NJ, Marshall received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Marquette University. He went on to earn a Master's in Recreation Management from Clemson University in 1991. Marshall and his wife, Bobbi, have two daughters, Naomi and Emily.
"I am pleased to join the Tiger Athletic Department and to become a member of the SIU community"
