RALEIGH, N.C. - As the rest of the East Coast is on ice, the Salem International University bats have been hot and cutting through the weather with 33 runs on 33 hits to defeat Shaw, 15-6 and 18-5 in a doubleheader Monday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers, who stumbled out to a 1-5 start, have one four straight to even up their record at 5-5.
After scoring just six runs in their first four games, Salem has started to put up video game numbers on the scoreboard with 72 runs scored in their last six games.
Salem will take on Ohio Valley University in their home opener on Wednesday, March 6th at Hope Field in Salem, WV. Season statistics will be updated and posted Wednesday evening.
