TIFFIN, O.H. - Kenneth McCornell was selected to the Second Team of the 2012-13 All-ICAA (Independends Collegiate Athletic Association) Team.
The senior guard from Cleveland, OH averaged 12.8 points per game for the Tigers. A threat to score anywhere on the court, McCornell averaged 41.5% from the field and an outstanding 40% from long range for a Salem team that finished ranked 24th in NCAA Division II in Three-Point Field Goals Per Game. McCornell scored in double-digits in 18 games and averaged 21 points in the last four games of the season.
All six schools were represented on the 2012-13 All-ICAA Men's basketball team. Daemen led the way with three selections.
The ICAA is composed of NCAA Division II schools that are not in a conference. Basketball members are Daemen, Oakland City, Palm Beach Atlantic, Salem International, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Washington Adventist.
Don SIlveri of Daemen was named Coach of the Year. He led the Wildcats to a 25-5 record and the ICAA championship. Silveri is 561-377 in 37 years as a head coach.
Player of the Year went to Mitch Stahl (Sr./Spencer, Ind.) of Oakland City. He averaged 22.48 points, 6.36 rebounds and 2.72 steals a game while shooting 57.3% from the floor and 84% from the line. Stahl led his team to a runner-up finish in the ICAA.
Freshman of the Year was Konor Kulas (Appleton, Wis.) of South Dakota Mines. He averaged 10.76 points and 5.08 rebounds a game while shooting 58.3% from the floor.
