SALEM, W.V. - A furious comeback for the Salem International men's basketball game fell short, as the Tigers lost to visiting Cedarville, 82-77, in action on Tuesday evening.

Salem (9-11) trailed by 17 points with 9:14 to pla, 72-55, then went on to score the next five (5) points on a made three and two free-throws by Freddy Edouard (Queens, NY) with 8:13 remaining.

After trading layups, SIU went on a 9-2 run on a Kevin Webb (Pineville, WV) layup and three, and a Kenneth McCornell (Cleveland, OH) layup and two made free-throws. Cedarville made a layup before Raymar Porter (Detroit, MI) answered with his own to cut the lead back to seven (78-71) with 42 seconds on the clock.

Jamal Robinson (Washington, DC) did make four free-throws before time expired but the Tigers were unable to overcome the Yellow Jackets, falling 82-77.

On the day, Porter led SIU with 16, followed by Kenneth McCornell with 15. Robinson added 11 and Edouard came away with 10, respectively.

Salem returns to action this weekend when they face Daemen College in Amherst, NY on January 26th. Tipoff is set for 4:00 PM
