Bluefield, WV - Sophomore guard Inkera Patterson (North West, D.C.) scored 15 points, but the Salem International University women's basketball team fell to Bluefield State College Saturday evening, , at the Herb Simms Classic.
Salem slumps to just 1-11 on the season.
Patterson, who also led her squad with a season high in rebounds (6) and assists (4) was joined in double-figures by Monique Hill. The junior from Mount Vernon, NY registered a season-high 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
Both teams were less than stellar from the free-throw line. Salem shot 24-of-43 (55.8%) while Bluefield State shot just slightly better in a 28-for-40 (70.0%) effort.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to face King College (Tenn) on Tuesday at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. In their first meeting, King College defeated SIU, 71-47, in Bristol, Tennessee.
