Salem, WV - Kevin Castillo (Crofton, MD) broke a 0-0 tie in the 70th minute and Mehmet Dogan (Konstanz, Germany) scored in the 86th as Salem International University outlasted the University of Pittsburgh - Johnstown, 2-0.

The win boosts the Tigers to a 6-4-0 and 5-1-0 when playing at home this season.

"It was always going to be a difficult match-up," said SIU Coach Florin Marton. "We prepared very well for this game.

After the two teams played to a stalemate for 50 minutes until the game came to a standstill when SIU's Simeon Bratengeier (Swisttal, Germany) and Lennard Hansen (Gottingen, Germany) leaped for the same header and ended up clipping each other.

"When they left the field stretchered off, we promised them we were going to win this game for them," continued Marton. "So, Simeon and Lennard, two-zero. One goal each. This win is for you."
