Salem, WV - Salem International University scored twice in the first half but ultimate fell in overtime to Lincoln University (PA), 3-2, Friday afternoon at Catalano Stadium. The Lady Tigers fall to 2-7-0 on the season. The Tigers found themselves in a 1-0 hole to LU early after conceding a goal in the first 15 minutes of the contest. However, as the clock ticked past the midway mark, SIU's Jemayne Buckingham (Johannesburg, South Africs_ and Ariel Loftis (Gales Ferry, CT) had found pay dirt and the Tigers went into halftime with a 2-1 lead. The second half saw the home-standing Tigers fend off relentless pressure from the Lions until a foul called inside the SIU box resulted in Lincoln tying the game up in the 88th minute and force the overtime. That overtime didn't stay long. LU got the golden goal less than five (5) minutes into the extra period when forward Tara O'Brien found the top left corner of the net. Salem International University returns to action on Tuesday to face Penn State-Beaver at Catalano Stadium.
