BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Salem International University freshmanJorge Flores (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) posted 14 goals, six assists, six steals, five drawn ejections and two field blocks to earn a share of the September 24 Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.
In a 1-2 weekend in Southern Division-West Region action, Flores aided the Tigers' cause against Notre Dame College (20-14 L), Washington & Jefferson College (13-11 L) and Penn State Behrend (20-9 W). His best game came versus Notre Dame as he registered six goals and two assists, while adding four goals versus the Behrend Lions for the Tigers' first career win under head coach Rob Bullion.
In addition, it marks Salem International's first victory in Southern Division play since a 13-5 victory over Grove City College at the Southern Division Championship on November 2, 2003.
