The Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology (BS-BIT) program provides the foundation to successfully apply information technology theory and principles to address real-world business applications, opportunities and challenges. Students who strive to become the next generation of business leaders, managers, and information technology professionals, will benefit from exploring ways today’s businesses employ information technology solutions in order to gain competitive advantage within their markets. Under the guidance of the faculty, the student uses innovative digital materials to develop competencies to apply: systems analysis and design, computer programming, database development, network technologies, information systems security, web technologies and project planning.

Furthermore, the BIT graduate will learn competencies, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the workplace. The BIT program forms the basis for continued career growth, life-long learning as an IT professional, or a business person with a high degree of IT aptitude. This specialization is designed for those students interested in pursuing any career requiring knowledge of information technology, such as: User Support Specialist, IT Help Desk, Service Technician, System Backup Specialist, PC Hardware Technician, Network Technician, Webmaster, and Communications Technician.
